My favorite date night dining in the RGV

So if you are anything like my husband and I, then date nights don’t happen very often. Not because we don’t want too, but something always comes up, ya know. My husband works out of town which means our time is very limited when he is home. We try to be very intentional with our time spent as a couple and as a family.. so when we do get a night, we want to make it count!

Luckily there are plenty of dining options in the RGV. If there is one thing we like to do in the valley, eating is definitely it. Am I right?! Whether you are looking for local fine dining or a casual restaurant you will have no problem finding a spot for date night… so try your best to make it happen!

Here are a few of our favorites;

Republic of the Rio Grande – 1411 South 10th Street

Great go to spot if you are looking to dress up and have a fancy cocktail!
They almost always have life music and dinner on the patio is perfect. The menu has a great variety, but you can’t go wrong with a brick oven pizza. I’m a sucker for pizza. The quality of the food, atmosphere, and service really makes for a special dinning experience.

The Quarter – 100 E NOLANA AVE STE 155

“Located in McAllen, Texas, The Quarter is a purveyor of classic and authentic New Orleans dining and a great selection of craft drinks & 100+ beers”. We usually like going to The Quarter for double dates or with a group of friends. To me, it has more of a bar vibe – with much better food! They also have live music, nightly. Be sure to go early if you want to get a table and order the fried pickles. Trust me!

Mama Mia Pizzeria – 100 U.S. 83 business

Did I mention I REALLY like pizza? Yep, even on a date night! This place is so cute and has a cozy, old school feel. It is a local family owned Italian restaurant and has been serving up the RGV’s finest Pizza, Pasta since 1984!

Texas Road house –

Yes, Texas Road House is on my list! I’m just keeping it real… I mean you cant really go wrong with this place. The rolls are addicting, your meal will always fill you up, the vibes are fun and the margaritas are EVERYTHING!!

So there you have it, just a few of my favorite places..

now you tell me, where is your favorite place to go for date night?
