This post was created in partnership with Moms Meet. All opinions are 100% my own.
CBD oil is everywhere right now, am I right?! I swear I’ve been seeing this stuff advertised all over the place and pretty much anyone I know has talked about it. If I am being honest, I’ve always been a little intrigued. Especially, since I hear people talk about the many benefits CBD oil has to offer. But, I’ve had so many thoughts and questions as well. What the heck is CBD oil? Will it get me high? How will I react when I try it? Can I take it while I am taking care of my kid?! I mean, I don’t even drink alcohol so I’m not trying to feel impaired in any way. Plus CBD comes from cannabis…cannabis is weed and weed gets you high..right?
Of course, CBD oil can make people a littler nervous, especially an already anxious person like myself. So, despite my intrigue, I’ve never made the attempt to take any because I was just too unsure about the whole thing. But then I got the opportunity to sample CBD oil from a company called Medterra through Moms Meet and things changed. I never wanted to take just any CBD oil from a random vape shop. I completely trust the products that Moms Meet shares because, well…Moms Meet is all about natural, organic and eco products and services. Plus, they are passionate about promoting a healthier lifestyle.
What is CBD Oil
After being selected for the campaign I really started to do some research on CBD oil. Luckily the MedTerra website provided some great information.
CBD (or cannabidiol) is one of over 85 cannabinoids found in cannabis. CBD is present in more significant quantities in hemp than it is in marijuana. And because it’s non-psychoactive, CBD is widely regarded to possess incredible health potential.Medterra.com
So, because CBD is non-psychoactive it will not get you high. But I think it is worth noting that just because you won’t “get high”, doesn’t mean you won’t fail a drug test. Most labs administering a drug test only search for the cannabinoid THC, which is the main psychoactive component of the marijuana plant. However, there are some testing facilities that check for a spectrum of cannabinoids and could trigger a positive drug test. Medterra suggests contacting the facility to see what cannabinoids they test for. It never hurts to ask.
Here is a little information that I got from their website.
Medterra was started by a group of individuals passionate about the power of CBD products, they provides customers with true seed to sale purchases. Their industrial hemp is grown and extracted in accordance within the strict guidelines of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Each and every product that leaves the facility must be third-party tested to ensure consistency and quality.
Medterra offers CBD Tincture, gel capsules, topical creams and even CBD for pets. All products contain zero THC, guaranteed.
Medterra CBD Oil Sample Pack
So, I’m not going to lie…after all the research I did, and even having total trust in both companies. I was still pretty nervous to try the CBD oil. Moms Meet sent me samples of a few different products that Medterra offers. I gave the melatonin and Good morning samples to my parents. I would never take anything with caffeine in it because I had a bad experience once. And, I do not want to try melatonin. My mom had a great experience with the products. She said she got one of the best night’s sleep she has had in a while.
My dad tried the Rapid Cooling Cream, which is for joint and muscle support. He recently had surgery on his shoulder and is starting physical therapy. He was hoping this cream would help but he did say that he didn’t notice any kind of difference. Perhaps the sample was not enough.
My Experience with CBD oil
I decided to try the CBD oil tincture. Before I go on, I’ll let you know why I wanted to try CBD oil in the first place. If you know me, you’ll know that I am a very anxious person that overthinks everything! Postpartum anxiety hit me like a ton of bricks. I’ve had so many situations where my anxiety has gotten the best of me that I should probably write a separate post… but anyway. I have worked on my mindset and I think after three years, I am finally making some strides. My biggest hurdle, however, is driving. My fear of driving was actually the reason so many people have suggested CBD oil. So, I decided to take it in the morning because I wanted to be aware of its effects throughout the day. The directions are easy enough, just one full dropper under the tongue. Another plus, this product is made with coconut oil so there is absolutely no bad taste.
At first I didn’t “feel” anything. I mean, I wasn’t too sure what to expect anyway but I didn’t want some sort of placebo effect, so I just kept it cool. Then I remember telling my husband “I feel…not easily irritable”. Being a stay at home mom is rough, and sometimes by the end of the day I’m just tired and annoyed. But, when I took the CBD oil my mood was calm and happy but I felt like myself, not impaired or foggy or anything like that. Just me, in a good mood. I like it. I haven’t had to drive myself yet but I’m planning to make this CBD Oil a part of my routine and hopefully I can report back with more positive insight.
If you have ever wanted to try CBD oil, I say give it a shot! But, of course do your own research! Medterra has some really great information on their site, so check them out. And, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
