Summer Staycation in Frisco TX

Summer Staycation in Frisco TX

So we decided to have a staycation. Being sheltered in place for months, and months left us yearning for an escape. Sometimes you just need a little getaway, right?! With restrictions starting to ease up a bit, after tons of research, and hotels promising new protocols for cleaning and less contact with employees, we decided to go for it. Our Summer staycation in Frisco TX was so much fun. Not only did we feel incredibly safe with all the precautions we took, but also with the new standards that businesses are upholding.

This is a sponsored post with the Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel. All opinions are my own.

Where to stay

Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel: Located in the Stonebriar Commons, in Frisco TX, this beautiful hotel sits in the center of a European Village Style setting filled with restaurants and many attractions near by.

As soon as we walked in we could tell that safety is their #1 priority. While inside, there are sanitizing stations, which had the best smelling hand sanitizer I have ever used, I might add. But, there is also limited contact with staff and plenty of room to social distance. During these times, they are offering limited housekeeping, and have closed the fitness center. Also, their food & beverage services have been suspended for the time being, but don’t worry…there are plenty of restaurants just a few steps from the hotel. And, for the inconvenience the Sheraton Stonebirar has even negotiated special offers to the local restaurants, just for their guests. Keep reading for details.

Our room was absolutely fantastic – very clean and comfortable! Sofia loved it, of course!! There was a wall of windows which allowed for some awesome natural light to flood the room. If you check out my instagram you’ll be able to see a tour of the room saved to my highlights. As I mentioned before, the hotel is limiting their housekeeping services during your stay. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get your room cleaned, or any extra towels or toiletries if you need them. Simply call guest services to schedule a cleaning or a contact-less delivery.

oh and the best part of our staycation…the pool! We spent most of our time swimming. We had the entire thing to ourselves – it was perfect.

Where to eat

When it came to food, we had a ton of options to choose from. From breakfast to Dinner, the Stonebriar commons has it all. After the pool we order from Cantina Laredo – Frisco. We are big fans of Mexican food and this place did not disappoint. Cantina Laredo is of course following all the CDC guidelines to keep their customers safe. Masks are required when dining, carry out is available, and they even offer limited room service for Sheraton Stonebriar guest. We opted to walk over and pick up our Dinner.

For a good breakfast/lunch option I urge you to check out Global Peace Coffee Shop. This Boutique Coffee House has more than just coffee. Here you can find, cold drinks and great food -everything from pastries, breakfast sandwiches, cookies, waffles and paninis. We went in for some smoothies, mainly because I am not a big breakfast person. And wow, the smoothie was A-MAZING! Seriously, I haven’t had a smoothie this good in like 3 years. I wish this place was closer to me.

Where to have fun

So, I never realized there was so much to do in Frisco, TX. Seriously there is something for everyone. We got the opportunity to check out The Crayola Experience. This one of a kind attraction had dozens of creative activities. Sofia got to name her own crayons, she turned her selfie into a coloring page, and of course she went crazy at the Crayola Store.

This was her first time out, anywhere, since march so I am glad we got to have some great family fun. And, I am happy to see the changes that The Crayola Experience has put in place to keep all visitors and employees safe, during this time. Here are the things you should know before you go;

  • Timed entry and capacity restrictions enforced
  • All personal belongings must be carried in a clear back for contactless security checks
  • Temperature checks for all guest and employees are required before entry.
  • Guests 3 and older must wear masks
  • Cashless transactions are preferred at this time.

Please remember they have implemented these new protocols aligned with state and local requirements, guidance from the CDC, and industry recommendations that are designed to promote cleanliness, social distancing and reduced physical contact. Be sure to plan accordingly
